Emma began her career as a Laboratory Animal Technician for Colorado State University in 2012 before deciding to train to become a Veterinary Technician. She completed her degree in the Unite States of America, gaining her Associates in Veterinary Technology in 2016. After graduating, she took on a challenging role as an overnight veterinary technician in a busy 24/7 emergency hospital, where she discovered her love of night shifts and emergency medicine.
In 2017 she moved to Edinburgh and passed her exams to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She continued working in emergency medicine as a night nurse until 2018, when she transitioned to working as a full-time locum. She loved the opportunities to see and learn from a wide variety of practices.
Throughout her studies and career, Emma has also developed a passion for clinical pathology and loves sleuthing through microscope slides when she gets the chance. Emma has joined Veterinary Specialists Scotland as a Night Nurse, and is looking forward to further developing her skill-set in a referral setting.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys walking with her dogs, nature and wildlife photography, and going on road trips across Scotland.
