Sammy Morrison
Veterinary Care Assistant

Sammy joined VSS in September 2020 as a Veterinary Care Assistant.

Sammy has always had a love of both domestic and exotic animals and it’s been her ambition from a young age to work in animal care. She studied Wildlife Conservation with Zoo Biology BSc at Salford University and spent her free time volunteering at a local dog shelter, walking and socialising the dogs. After graduating from university in 2014 she moved to Scotland (Livingston) to undertake a year-long internship at a zoo (Five Sisters Zoo) where she later became a zookeeper. Working at the zoo helped Sammy gain experience working with veterinary staff and inspired her to want to train and work in a veterinary environment.

To enable her to use her transferable animal care skills in a veterinary setting she has enrolled onto a SCQF Veterinary Terminology online course which is due to be completed in January 2021.

Sammy is excited to join the VSS team to learn from some of the best in their field and to work within a supportive, stimulating and enjoyable work environment

Sammy has four pet rabbits called Boris, Bonnie, Britney and Bella who keep her busy when she’s not working.
